Disney+ A Thousand Blows release date, cast, plot and trailer

Disney+'s next big offering A Thousand Blows, is packed with talent both in front of and behind the camera.

Set in 1880s Victorian London, the series delves into the world of illicit boxing as it follows two best friends from Jamaica who become entangled in this violent yet thrilling world.

They also have to deal with The Forty Elephants, a notorious all-female London gang that uses the blood sport to aid their criminal activities.

The series will make its debut on Friday, February 21, on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.

A Thousand Blows will consist of six episodes, all of which will be released on the initial release date.

Leading the impressive cast of A Thousand Blows is the unforgettable Stephen Graham, who will portray seasoned boxer Sugar Goodson.

Graham has had a varied career, appearing in major shows such as Band of Brothers, Gangs of New York, Line of Duty, Boiling Point and White House Farm.

However, many of his fans will best remember him as Combo in the This Is England franchise. Joining Graham is The Crown actress Erin Doherty, who plays Mary Carr, leader of the all-female gang The Forty Elephants.

The cast also includes Small Axe stars Malachi Kirby and Francis Lovehall, Warrior's Jason Tobin as Mr Lao, Little Boy Blue's James Nelson-Joyce and Code 404 actor Daniel Mays.

Graham's wife and former This Is England and Boiling Point star Hannah Walters will portray The Forty Elephants gang member Eliza Moody.
