Diogo Dalot reveals 'demanding' Ralf Rangnick tactical advice given to Manchester United

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has admitted interim manager Ralf Rangnick has installed a "demanding style of play" at Old Trafford following his appointment in November.

Following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the aftermath of the 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, United confirmed that they planned to install a temporary manager until the end of the campaign. They did attempt to lure Mauricio Pochettino to the club from Paris Saint-Germain but saw their efforts fail.

Therefore, they stuck with their plan of sourcing a temporary manager in Rangnick. And while results, certainly recently, have been up and down, the German has tried to use his experience to fix United's off-field problems, while trying to give them an identity again on the pitch.

Having now been in charge for 19 games, United's players have fully familiarised themselves with what Rangnick expects of them. However, Dalot — who has found himself getting more game time under the German — has admitted that Rangnick enforces a "demanding" system.

"Ralf talks a lot about anticipation and being proactive, and that's one of the things that I've been trying to work on the most because sometimes being at the right place at the right time can stop you making mistakes," Dalot told UEFA.com

"We have a demanding type of game, a demanding style of play; you want to press really high, but you also want to be careful with balance at the back. Then when you have the ball, you have to play forward, you have to be intense, you have to help the team in the last third as a full-back.
