Diogo Dalot responds to Ralf Rangnick physicality concern at Manchester United

Diogo Dalot has called for Manchester United to be more aggressive and physical if they’re to stand a chance of finishing in the top four this season.

United head to relegation-threatened Everton on Saturday as they look to get back on track in their push for fourth. United missed the chance to make up more ground after their disappointing draw with Leicester last week.

With a tough fixture list to contend with for the remainder of the season, United have it all to do if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League. They currently sit three points of both Tottenham and Arsenal, with the Gunners still holding a game in hand.

And with United’s tendency to drop points at crucial times in what has been a dismal season, they haven’t received much backing to turn things around in time to finish in the top four. Dalot though believes there’s a simple adjustment they can make to improve their fortunes and it falls in line with what manager Ralf Rangnick pinpointed as a problem after last week's 1-1 draw.

“We need to start building again, especially on a physicality level,” Dalot told the club's website. “We need to be more aggressive; we need to want [to win] more than the other team.

“[Our] quality will come out for itself but the physical levels, the mental levels have to be more than them so that we can win the game.

“We still have a lot to play for this season. We want to be in the Champions League next season, so we need to push. We need to win games and we need to give everything until the end of the season.
