Didier Drogba: Video of Chelsea star's 2009/10 season shows how good he was

Didier Drogba is perhaps one of the greatest strikers to have ever graced the Premier League.

The centre-forward joined Chelsea in the Summer of 2004 from Marseille and went on to become one of the most important signings in the club’s history, being an integral part of their 2012 Champions League triumph.

During his time at the club, the Ivorian yielded an incredible 164 goals and 87 assists across 381 matches while also winning two Premier League Golden Boot awards.

One of those awards came in 2010 when the striker scored 37 goals in 44 games where he helped the Blues lift both the FA Cup and the Premier League trophy.

That was perhaps his most prolific season but the stats don’t stop there, with the 44-year-old amassing an incredible record of 71 minutes per goal and assist.

And while the numbers are very impressive, there’s nothing quite like watching the striker go about his craft, especially on his birthday.

A compilation video of some of Drogba’s greatest goals in the blue shirt has resurfaced on Twitter and showcases how much of a clinical goalscorer the Ivorian really was.

With an elite eye for goal, superb physicality and the ability to finish from pretty much any angle inside the box, the video showcases why Drogba is largely considered one of the most complete centre-forwards in the history of the Premier League.
