Devils part ways with Nasreddine, Recchi

The New Jersey Devils will be looking to replace a pair of assistant coaches as the team announced they have parted ways with both Alain Nasreddine and Mark Recchi.

#NEWS: We have mutually agreed to part ways with Assistant Coach Alain Nasreddine, as his contract will not be renewed. Additionally, Assistant Coach Mark Recchi has been relieved of his duties.https://t.co/e9G7fSQpX7

The Devils and Nasreddine mutually agreed to part ways while Recchi was relieved of his duties.

Nasreddine was named assistant coach in 2015 after spending five seasons with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins under John Hynes. During his time here, Nasreddine's defence allowed a the league's fewest goals on four occasions.

Before joining Devils head coach Lindy Ruff behind the bench in September of 2020, Mark Recchi spent three seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins where the Pens posted a record of 131-78-24 and reached the post season in every year.

The Devils finished seventh in the East's Metropolitan division with a record of 27-46-9 and 28th in the NHL with 83 points.
