Desert Crown heads field of 17 in the Derby

Cazoo Derby (In Memory of Lester Piggott) favourite Desert Crown will face 16 rivals at Epsom on Saturday afternoon.

The Michael Stoute-trained Desert Crown, who will be partnered by Richard Kingscote, propelled himself to the head of the market after a taking win in the Dante Stakes at York last month.

Five of the runners are trained in Ireland, with Aidan O'Brien saddling three of the declared runners.

Jockey booking have yet to be revealed for the trio of Ballydoyle runners, but Ryan Moore is almost certain to partner second favourite Stone Age in the colts' Classic.

Star Of India and Changingoftheguard are the other runners for the yard, with the latter sporting first-time cheekpieces.

Donnacha O'Brien will be represented by the Niarchos family-owned Piz Badile, while County Tyrone handler Andy Oliver will bid to cause a massive upset with Glory Daze.
