Derrick Henry: Tennessee Titans running back opens up over contract talks
Tennesse Titans running back Derrick Henry has opened up about his contract situation as he has returned to preseason work with the team.
If you wanted to compile a list of most-feared running backs in the league, not just in this age but possibly throughout the history of the National Football League, then there is a good chance that Derrick Henry would be in contention to find himself on that list.
Whilst it took him some time to establish himself in the league, serving as a backup for the first two years of his career after the Tennessee Titans took him in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft, when he was given his chance in 2018, he took it with both hands.
In the four years he’s been the starting running back, he has amassed three straight seasons of 1,000+ yards, including 2020 which saw him break the 2,000-yard mark. 2021 would have more than likely seen him contend to try and break that mark again, but an injury-shortened season saw him put up just 937 yards in 8 games, less than half the league season.
Derrick Henry is the only player with a 70+ yard run in every season since 2017
