A depraved rapist 'recruited' women as sex workers before filming his vile attacks on them with secret cameras hidden in pens.

Nicholas Moxham raped and sexually assaulted women on several occasions, sometimes while they were unconscious. When police raided his home in August 2021, one woman was found 'pale and malnourished' under a duvet on his living room floor.

Upon the arrival of police, he launched a hard drive out of his bedroom window in a desperate attempt to dispose of evidence, before officers then found hard drives, storage devices and spy hole cameras.

The investigation into Moxham first began in June 2020 when witnesses reported seeing someone called 'Nick' loitering around homeless shelters and in the company of sex workers.

Over time, police said he recruited six women as sex workers, arranging for others to meet at his home and also an address in Longsight.

He covertly filmed many of the encounters using specialist equipment, including with the use of cameras that were hidden in pens. A number of videos showed him raping or sexually assaulting his victims.

Moxham, of Briarfield Road, Heaton Chapel, was found guilty of a total of 32 charges for a range of offences after a five-week trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

These were six counts of rape; six counts of controlling prostitution for gain; thirteen counts of voyeurism; three counts of requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour; three accounts of assault by penetration and a count of attempted rape. He will be sentenced in July.
