Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius: Huge shot on Luis Ortiz in slow-mo

Anticipation is building ahead of Deontay Wilder’s return to the ring.

The former WBC heavyweight world champion will take on Robert Helenius in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 15.

The Bronze Bomber hasn’t fought since his defeat to Tyson Fury and will be looking to put down a marker against Helenius. The Nordic Nightmare, meanwhile, has won his last three fights and has, in the past, proved to be a thorn in the side of former heavyweight champions such as Lamon Brewster and Samuel Peter.

Only one man who Wilder has faced in the professional ranks has had an answer to him, that being the former(?) WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

After their first fight was declared a draw, Fury was victorious in both rematches. Wilder’s strength, however, is his exceptional punching power, having knocked out every opponent he has defeated.

A video from his 2018 victory over Luis Ortiz which showcases his hammer-like right hand has been posted on Twitter.

Wilder is seen probing his opponent before choosing his moment to land the killer blow, stunning Ortiz whose legs buckle as he drops to the canvas.

Fans who have commented highlight the power shown by Wilder, with some predicting that he will have too much for Helenius on Saturday. As well as the power shown in the decisive punch, one tweet praised Wilder for how he set up the opportunity and waited for the optimum moment to strike.

Another fan tweeted “too fast, even in slow-motion” and went on to state that despite his admiration for Helenius, if Wilder lands a right hand, the fight will be over.
