Denise Van Outen says 'I don't like to be taken advantage of' following split from Eddie Boxshall

Denise Van Outen has given an insight into relationships coming to an end in a new interview following her split from Eddie Boxshall.

In a candid chat with Zoe Ball on Radio 2, the former Big Breakfast presenter spoke about her new autobiography A Bit of Me: From Basildon to Broadway, and Back.

Zoe asked Denise about 'talking very candidly' about relationships in the book as well as work situations. And mum-of-one Denise told her that it's important, as a role model to her 11-year-old daughter, to know when to walk away.

"Sometimes it’s been to the detriment of my own career or in my own relationships, but I just feel like it’s really important as a woman to have self-worth and self-respect."

She added: "Do you know what? The bad times are always followed by good times and that’s what I always look forward to.

"I think you just ride the wave of the bad times knowing that eventually you will get to a good place."

Denise, who shot to fame in the nineties as the presenter of the Channel Four morning show The Big Breakfast and went on to become a West End and Broadway star, confirmed she had split from her partner of seven years in January.

She and city trader Eddie were regularly seen together on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox.
