Defending champion Djokovic knocked out of US Open third round
NEW YORK : Defending U.S. Open champion Novak Djokovic was beaten 6-4 6-4 2-6 6-4 by Australian Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the Grand Slam on Friday.
Djokovic could not shake off the early rust and struggled with his serve, ending the year without a major title for the first time since 2017.
