Defender in post Celtic exuberance as he sparks wild scenes with last gasp winner at latest club

Remember Andrew Gutman and his time at Celtic Park? Perhaps not.

The defender had a brief spell at Celtic but was unable to make a top team appearance for the club after joining in 2019. He has since had a number of loan spells in the USA since joining current club Atalanta United but he sent out a reminder of why he ended up at Parkhead with a stunning last-gasp winner for his club side.

Atlanta were heading for a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders before the defender arrowed a beautiful effort low into the net from just over 20-yards to hand his side all three points. It was a 94th minute strike as he sent the home fans wild. The 25-year-old climbed off the bench in the 81st minute to give his manager food for thought for the next game and future line-ups.

His wonderful effort came as his former club made it back-to-back Premiership wins with victory in Dingwall against Ross County.

Kyogo Furuhashi had fired his side in front before Alex Iacovitti levelled for the hosts.

Speaking after the game, boss Ange Posteocoglou told the Celtic FC website : “I thought we played really well today, it’s a difficult place to come to, we know that and particularly it was windy today and they are a big, physical team.
