David Prutton issues score prediction ahead of Middlesbrough vs Fulham

Middlesbrough host Fulham tomorrow evening, with the Teesside club looking to mark their return to the Riverside Stadium with a positive result to strengthen their position in the Championship play-off positions.

Chris Wilder’s side have played their last four second-tier matches away from home, accumulating seven points during that time.

Boro have averaged 2.11 PPG at home this season and are yet to be defeated by a top-six club on home soil.

Interestingly enough, the Cottagers have averaged 2.11 PPG away from home this season, with Fulham also undefeated in away games against sides in the top-six.

Marco Silva’s side hold an eight-point advantage over Bournemouth in second and are 14 points clear of third-placed Huddersfield Town.

Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that this game will finish 1-1.

The verdict

Boro were excellent against Peterborough United at the weekend, and whilst at one point it appeared that their away form may have prevented them from reaching the top-six, they have managed to address that in style over recent weeks.

Now back at the Riverside, Boro will believe that they can beat anyone in this league, with tomorrow’s test against Fulham looking to be their toughest test in what remains.

Fulham have looked a level above the competition for the majority of this season, however, this clash does also appear to be their hardest game remaining.

The Whites have been excellent this season, both from an attacking and defensive perspective and will be eager to finish the campaign as strongly as possible.

A 1-1 draw appears to be the best assessment ahead of tomorrow’s game.
