David Moyes backs ‘brilliant’ West Ham squad to battle on all fronts despite transfer frustration
West Ham manager David Moyes believes his squad have more than enough to ensure they finish this season successfully.
Sunday’s win over Wolves was only their fourth Premier League victory of 2022 amid a drop in terms of overall performance and the three points put Moyes’s side right back into contention to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Manchester United in fourth spot are only two points ahead, albeit the chasing Arsenal and Tottenham both have games in hand on West Ham.
Fighting on a number of fronts this season with both the FA Cup and Europa League offering avenues of further success, Moyes has moved to assure supporters he remains optimistic his squad can cope.
The January transfer window proved hugely frustrating for the club after they saw deals for Darwin Nunez, Duje Caleta-Car and Kalvin Phillips fail to come to fruition, but Moyes has stressed that West Ham weren’t the only club not to spend.
