Date and location revealed for huge WWE UK pay-per-view

A new report has revealed the date and location have been revealed for the WWE UK pay-per-view that will supposedly take place this year.

WWE has not held an official pay-per-view in the UK since 2003, but rumours and reports have suggested that’s going to be changing this year.

WWE left a spot open in its pay-per-view schedule for 2022 for a show on either September 2 and September 3, and many speculated this would be when a UK show would take place.

Those rumours have now been echoed by a report from WrestleVotes, with the reliable Twitter source suggesting that the show is slated to take place in the UK on September 2.

Source states the long-awaited WWE United Kingdom PPV return will take place Saturday, September 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. That is the same weekend as AEW’s ‘All Out’ PPV.

As you can see above, the tweet suggests that the show, which WWE star Drew McIntyre has been campaigning for, will be taking place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

That suggests that WWE wants the show to be a relatively big deal, with the stadium holding 75,000 people, which is more than the regular venues that hold WWE shows.

Many expected the show to take place at Wembley Stadium, considering it’s now been 20 years since SummerSlam 1992 in the stadium, but that won’t be happening.

WWE has not yet confirmed that the show is taking place in the UK, or its location, but that is likely to come in the coming weeks.

However, some have speculated that WWE could announce the show during the tour of the UK that is slated to take place next month.

The UK all become the first country, bar Saudi Arabia or the USA, to hold a WWE pay-per-view since 2018, when an event took place in Australia.
