Darren Bent urges Arsenal to sign Man Utd target alongside Gabriel Jesus this summer

Darren Bent believes Arsenal should attempt to sign both Gabriel Jesus and Christopher Nkunku to rebuild their forward line this summer.

Despite missing out on Champions League qualification, the Gunners are showing serious ambition in the transfer market and remain hopeful of agreeing a deal to bring Jesus to the Emirates.

While the Brazil international has also been offered to Chelsea and Real Madrid, Mikel Arteta has made him a priority signing with the club already laying significant groundwork into the transfer.

Jesus is ready to make the move to London and former Tottenham striker Bent believes a deal is close, insisting the move will prove to be a great piece of business for the Gunners.

‘I’d like to see him go to Arsenal. I think he’d be brilliant,’ Bent told talkSPORT.

‘He’s not got a point to prove but I think he needs regular football and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they’d like to get to.

‘So I think that would be a really good addition to the squad.’

Nkunku has also been linked with a move to Arsenal. The 24-year-old registered 35 goals and 19 assists in all competitions during an incredible 2021-22 season with Manchester United said to be preparing an offer with Chelsea also interested in his services.

While Bent admits there is plenty of interest in the former PSG youngster, he would love to see him become one of three new signings at Arsenal alongside Jesus and Brighton star Yves Bissouma.

‘And Christopher Nkunku. [He would cost] a lot. There’s talk about him going back to Paris Saint-Germain,’ Bent said.

‘”But I’d love him. I think he fits the bill, he can play centre-forward, he can play off the left, he can play off the right.’
