Daniel Ricciardo's Australian road trip in an F1 car: 'I've always wanted to do this'

This weekend, the Formula 1 circus moves to Australia for the third round of the 2023 championship. Heralding the weekend and setting things in motion, Red Bull Racing's prodigal son, Daniel Ricciardo, took to the country's most challenging and harshest conditions in the team's 2011 championship-winning car, the RB7.

Ricciardo, joined by several countrymen who also compete under the Red Bull flag (but in different sporting codes), undertook a massive road trip across his home country, and will, this weekend, make his first appearance at an F1 race since announcing a sabbatical from racing and rejoining Red Bull as its official reserve driver.

"After my first Red Bull Racing Road Trip in San Francisco, I've always wanted the opportunity to do this in Australia," the 'Honey Badger' said.

"To be back home, taking the RB7 across the Aussie outback, and sharing the best Australia has to offer with the world - what better way to celebrate my first F1 event at home since returning to Oracle Red Bull Racing."

Other Red Bull road trips include visits to the USA, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the Czech Republic.

Shane van Gisbergen (Supercars champion), Toby Price and Daniel Sanders (enduro motorsport), and Matt Hall (aerobatic pilot) made their presence felt in extraordinary ways, creating epic and unforgettable moments throughout
