Dan Ashworth has already explained Manchester United stance on Casemiro exit rumours

Dan Ashworth has insisted any players who want to leave Manchester United will be free to do so if a deal works for all parties - as Casemiro continues to be linked with a move to Galatasaray.

The Brazilian endured a torrid afternoon at Old Trafford on Sunday as United were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool, with Casemiro at fault for both goals Erik ten Hag's side conceded in the first half. Casemiro was substituted at half-time by Ten Hag.

Consequently, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray, who can continue player trading until next Friday.

But despite reports in the national press claiming Casemiro is determined to fight for his Old Trafford future just two years after joining the club in a £70m deal from Real Madrid, it appears United would be willing to sanction a departure for the Brazilian if the offer is right for the player.

Asked by Sky Sports News earlier this week why United allowed Jadon Sancho to leave the club to join Chelsea, Ashworth insisted any player would be free to leave Old Trafford if it suits all parties.

"I think with any player, whether it’s Jadon, whether it’s Scott [McTominay] or whether it’s Aaron, if there’s a preference that they would like to move and go to a new club and it’s right for them and it’s right for us, then you have to explore it," said Ashworth.

According to the Daily Mail, Casemiro is United's top earner - taking home a weekly wage of £375,000 - on a contract that runs until 2026.
