Daizen Maeda is one key trait away from being 'world beater' as Adam Idah tops the charts - Celtic news bulletin

Daizen Maeda would be wanted by EVERY CLUB in the world if he could bring one key element into this game.

The Celtic attacker has a huge fan in one Hoops hero, but he reckons to reach that next level he must learn how to "pass the ball at pace". If he could master that art and bring it on a regular basis then Frank McAvennie reckons Brendan Rodgers would have a world-beater on his hands. The Japan international is often lauded for his incredible work rate. On so many occasions he's been seen sprinting back to help out his full-back late on in games while also constantly pressing and harassing opposition defenders.

He's established himself as a real fans' favourite for the Scottish champions and a key man in Rodgers' team and Macca reckons he could bring even more to the table. He told Football Insider: “Going back to the European game, no one could get a pass, it wasn’t just [Nicolas] Kuhn. People were having a go at him but it wasn’t just him, it was everyone.

“Khun and [Daizen] Maeda I think is a good combination, two different wingers but I tell you, if Maeda could learn how to pass the ball at that pace, he’d be a world-beater. Every club in the world would want him because he’s so enthusiastic, he’s so great for the team because he works his socks off.

“When he gets going, sometimes he passes it into Row Z but sometimes he puts in on a plate for people and he’s getting better all the time. They all look at him because he looks like he’s not out of breath, he’s chasing in the 86th minute, he chases people and he doesn’t even look out of breath. I can understand why Brendan likes him.”

Meanwhile, Adam Idah is topping the charts with Republic of Ireland. The big money Celtic summer signing cost his new club a fee
