Cyclist taken to hospital after crash with car in Bridgend

A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash with a car. South Wales Police say they were called to Park Road, Aberkenfig, to reports of a crash involving a cyclist and a Mazda car.

The crash happened at around 8:55am on Wednesday, June 5, and a 74-year-old man was taken to hospital in Bridgend for treatment. Police say the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.

The road was closed while the collision was dealt with and reopened at around 10.50am. South Wales Police say: "motorists are thanks for their patience while the incident was dealt with."

In an initial update on their social media pages, the force said that the road was closed in both directions and it was expected to remain closed for some time.
