Cyberpunk 2077: Game hits 1 million players amid updates

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is undergoing something of a comeback, with its daily player count now reaching 1 million.

The news comes amid a number of updates to the game that have added stability and further mechanics.

Of course, the spin-off anime series, Edgerunners, has also recently released on Netflix, adding further intrigue and hype to the universe in which Cyberpunk takes place in.

Many players will remember Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch, in which the game was absolutely riddled with bugs and glitches.

But it appears that CDPR have managed to steady the ship and bring even more players back into the fold.

A message was posted on Cyberpunk’s official Twitter account on Wednesday.

It read: “Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning. We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game.”

The most recent update has been patch 1.6, which brought with it new gigs, new content that allows players to change their wardrobe more easily, and also added new long-range and melee weapons.

There is cross-progression between platforms now too, and plenty of crossover Edgerunners content.

They have even added a new Arcade Game, titled Roach Race, which players can have a go at within the game.

Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning. We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game. Thanks, Chooms!
