CWG 2022: Gurdeep Singh Wins Bronze In Men's 109+ kg Weightlifting Final

India's Gurdeep Singh won a  bronze medal in the men's 109+ kg weightlifting final, lifting a total of 390 kg. The silver in the event went to New Zealand's David Andrew Liti, who picked 394kg, while the gold went to Pakistan's Muhammad Noor Dastgir Butt. The Pakistani lifter created a new Games record with a total lift of 405kg.

Gurdeep lifted 167kg in snatch and 223kg in clean and jerk to finish in the third spot.

Weightlifting has been the best sport for India so far in the Games, giving the country several medals, including three golds.
