Cullen 'delighted', but Rowntree 'proud' after defeat

Leinster head coach Leo Cullen was delighted with the final outcome of his side's 27-13 bonus-point win against Munster, but admits they need to be more clinical after a wasteful first half.

After squandering several try-scoring opportunities in the opening half, Leinster found themselves 13-7 behind early in the second half, before their experience eventually proved too much for their rivals.

"Yes, in terms of the outcome," the Leinster boss said, when asked if he was pleased with their night's work.

"We are delighted to get a bonus-point win in a Leinster-Munster game, it doesn't happen that often, does it?

"There are parts of the game that we can look back on where we create a lot of opportunities in the first half but we are not particularly clinical in terms of finishing them off."

Part of Cullen's frustration stemmed from his side's inability to punish Munster for their two first-half yellow cards.

With the cards falling almost back-to-back, Leinster had a numerical advantage pretty much from the 26th to 46th minute, trailing 3-0 at the time of the first card, and being 13-7 down by the time the second sin-bin elapsed.

"It is the composure part that we are lacking. Having said that, to come away with four tries, is a positive outcome for us. The points [tally] up to this point is positive.

"You have to give Munster a huge amount of credit. You see them there at the end in terms of battered bodies coming off the field. They kept throwing everything at us which is what you want to see in a provincial derby game.
