Crystal Palace confirmed starting XI vs Brentford as Michael Olise dropped

Patrick Vieira has made two changes to his Crystal Palace starting XI for today's trip to the Brentford Community Stadium.

The Eagles head into today's game 13th in the table, one point and one place ahead of Brentford in 14th and with a game in hand over their London rivals.

Vicente Guaita starts between the sticks once again, with Jack Butland deputising on the bench.

At centre-back, both Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi start together once again. Tyrick Mitchell and Joel Ward complete the back four at left and right-back respectively.

In midfield, Vieria has deemed it too soon to start James McArthur, though he is named on the bench yet again after being an unused substitute against Norwich in midweek.

Instead, Will Hughes starts in the holding midfield spot again, with Jeffrey Schlupp and Conor Gallagher playing ahead of him to complete the trio in the middle of the pitch.

Wilfried Zaha is back in and is expected to play on the left-wing once again. The Ivorian scored a wonder goal against the Canaries last time out but missed a penalty, though Vieira told the press on Friday the order for spot-kicks didn't need to be changed as a result.

Jordan Ayew starts on the right-wing in place of Michael Olise, who grabbed an assist in his last game against Norwich.

Up front, Jean-Philippe Mateta has been dropped in place of Odsonne Edouard, with Christian Benteke able to be called upon from the bench for added firepower if needed.

Micahel Olise and Eberechi Eze are both named on the substitutes bench also today along with McArthur.

Guaita; Mitchell, Guehi, Andersen, Ward; Hughes, Schlupp, Gallagher, Zaha, Edouard, Ayew.

Butland, Milivojevic, Tomkins, Olise, Eze, Matetea, Clyne, McArthur, Benteke
