Crystal Palace: Big claim emerges on Odsonne Edouard's Selhurst Park future
Odsonne Edouard still has a future at Crystal Palace having already proven himself as an asset in the Premier League, according to journalist Tom Barclay.
The striker initially made a fine start to his Eagles career following his move from Celtic, but he’s been continuously overlooked of late.
Having scored twice in quick time against Tottenham on his top-flight debut before netting at Arsenal a few games later, Edouard looked like being a snip at for Palace at £14m.
But Edouard would find the net just three times in his next 17 appearances, which has led to him dropping out of the side in recent weeks.
He’s played just one minute across Palace’s last five games in all competitions, while his last start came around a month ago at Brentford.
Despite his recent drop off in form, only Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher (8) have scored more goals than the Frenchman.
Therefore, Barclay doesn’t believe that Edouard’s Selhurst Park career might be drawing to a close, even though he’s currently down Patrick Vieira’s pecking order.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “They invested heavily in him in the summer, Vieira pushed for him. At this stage I can’t think his time is up. He’s already proven that he can be an asset and can score goals in the Premier League.”

At present, Edouard has an extremely tough task on his hands.
Firstly, Vieira’s decision to leave him on the bench is paying off, with Palace collecting seven points from their last three Premier League games, while they’re also in the quarter finals of the FA Cup following their recent victory over Stoke.
