Croke Park clash would be career 'pinnacle' for Katie Taylor

Katie Taylor is already dreaming of her next fight after retaining her super-lightweight world titles almost two months ago and still has Croke Park at the top of her wish list.

"It's definitely still a dream to fight at Croke Park," Taylor said at an event in Carrickmines.

"I think to have a chance to fight here in Ireland is always absolutely incredible, but to have a chance to fight in our most iconic arena at Croke Park would be the icing on the cake, I think.

The Bray native at Croke Park has been a long-awaited fixture, with a deal unable to be reached in February last year for the trilogy against Chantelle Cameron.

Despite being unable to secure the venue, Taylor still hopes it will be the highlight of her career.

"That would be the pinnacle of my career to have a chance to actually fight in Croke Park... I'm still hanging on to that hope, but we'll see what happens."

Taylor spends more time in the United States now than on home soil, but still enjoys coming home.

"It's great to be back. It's always so special being home. I spend most of my time in Connecticut now, so when I am home it's always so special just to spend a bit of time with family."

Coming home has allowed Taylor to reflect, and the undisputed world champion admits she doesn't get much time to enjoy her wins.

"As I go on, I realise that after I win these competitions and certain fights, I'm always thinking to the next fight.

"I don't really take time to, I don't think I took the time to enjoy the wins as much as I should have but I think that's natural as well when you're in the middle of your career you're always thinking about the next fight," she added.

Taylor doesn't seem ready to hang up her gloves just yet, and a fixture at her most yearned for venue
