Crocodile-ridden river cleared to host Olympic rowing and canoe events at Brisbane 2032
The crocodile-ridden Fitzroy river in the city of Rockhampton has been cleared by an independent report to host the rowing and canoe sprint events at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, organisers said on Thursday.
The flatwater venue, part of a plan to include regional Queensland in Australia’s third Summer Olympics, initially attracted attention because of the presence of some 500 saltwater crocodiles in the river.
