Cristiano Ronaldo Warned He Is Doing His 'Siu' Celebration Far Too Often

Cristiano Ronaldo has been told he is doing his 'Siu' celebration too often by former England international Peter Crouch.

Ronaldo's trademark celebration sees him jump in the air, before spinning around and landing with his hands thrust backwards – shouting 'Siu' as he hits the ground.

The Portugal international first used the celebration in its current form at Real Madrid in 2013 and has celebrated the majority of goals since then in the same way.

Crouch was also known for having a trademark celebration in his playing days, 'The Robot', which he first used after scoring for England against Jamaica in a World Cup warm-up match in 2006.

He would only repeat the act a few times in his career and the former Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke striker has joked that Ronaldo’s celebration is now at risk of becoming stale.

"You don’t want anybody turning round saying: 'Oh, here he goes again.'

"I only did the robot three times on a pitch (more at weddings, obviously!) — in England friendlies against Hungary and Jamaica and, with Stoke, when I scored my 100th Premier League goal.

"You have to save them. Leave the punters wanting more. Think on, Cristiano."

Crouch’s comments just days after Ronaldo opted not to use his 'Siu' celebration after scoring in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Brighton.

United followed that up with a 4-2 win over Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday.

Speaking to United’s website back in 2019, Ronaldo revealed the origins of his famous celebration.

“I was in the USA and we played against Chelsea and I don’t know where this is coming from, the celebration," he added.

“I just scored the goal and it just came out. It was just natural, to be honest.
