Goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes gave Erik ten Hag’s side a deserved victory over Spurs on Wednesday evening.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, started the the game on the bench and in the 90th minute the 37-year-old opted to head down the tunnel, even though Ten Hag still had two substitutions available.

According to The Athletic, not only did Ronaldo leave the dugout before the final whistle but he also left Old Trafford before the game had ended.

The report claims that Ronaldo did not join in with United’s post-match celebrations in their dressing room but his actions ‘didn’t make a ripple’ with his teammates.

When asked about Ronaldo’s actions, Ten Hag said he would ‘deal’ with the situation at Carrington on Thursday.

‘Yeah, I don’t pay attention to that, we deal with that tomorrow,’ Ten Hag said.

‘We want to focus on this team, it was a magnificent performance from all 11 players.
