Cristiano Ronaldo’s reaction to Jadon Sancho goal during Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool goes viral

Will Cristiano Ronaldo still be a Manchester United player after the transfer window closes next week?

It’s been widely reported in recent weeks that the legendary forward is unhappy at Old Trafford and is determined to move clubs in order to compete for the biggest trophies.

But due to a lack of options, there’s every chance that Ronaldo will remain at Man Utd for the time being.

However, Erik ten Hag’s decision to bench Ronaldo for Monday’s 2-1 win over rivals Liverpool has cast even more doubt over the star striker’s future.

United produced their best team performance in a long time without Ronaldo, who turns 38 in February, leading the line.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still one of world football’s best finishers but his lack of dynamism is an issue for Ten Hag’s system.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if he starts a lot of games on United’s bench this season if he fails to secure a move away from Manchester.

Ronaldo briefly reunited with former United captain Roy Keane, who was working for Sky Sports, prior to kick-off.

“On the bench?” Keane said to his ex-teammate.

Ronaldo shrugged and said with a smile: “What do you want me to do?”

Keane replied: “Get in the team!”

Ten Hag eventually sent Ronaldo on with five minutes remaining in place of Marcus Rashford, who netted United’s second goal of the game after Jadon Sancho scored the opener.

But a video shows United’s No. 7 wasn’t sat on the bench sulking about the manager’s decision during the game.
