Whether Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing for Manchester United in 2022/23 remains to be seen.

It’s well-known that the Portuguese superstar is after a move elsewhere this summer due to the fact the Red Devils are not in the Champions League.

Various clubs have been linked with a move for Ronaldo, including Atletico Madrid, although their fans have made it very clear they don’t want him brought in.

The Ronaldo situation is starting to become a bit messy for United and it’s one that needs sorting out before the 2022/23 season kicks off next weekend.

Rumours surrounding the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future at Old Trafford have been rife in recent weeks, with one of the latest suggesting he is adamant about leaving the club.

A Ronaldo fan posted the rumour on their Instagram page, writing that his agent Jorge Mendes has informed United about his desire to leave and that Sir Alex Ferguson has had to intervene.

Is it true? Well, according to the man himself, absolutely not.

Ronaldo, who is the most followed person on Instagram, left a cryptic comment underneath the post in which he poured water on the fire.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward wrote on the social media platform: “Impossible not to talk about me one day. Otherwise the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going that one day you get some news right.”
