Cristiano Ronaldo: Painful clip shows why Man Utd star was so frustrated v Atletico

Cristiano Ronaldo cut a frustrating figure throughout during Manchester United’s Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

The Portuguese forward would have gone into the game determined to get one over his former rivals.

However, things didn’t go to plan for the legendary 37-year-old.

Ronaldo’s effort was not in question. He was giving everything he had to make a mark on the game but he failed to score against Diego Simeone’s side.

United may have salvaged a late draw thanks to Anthony Elanga’s goal but, despite that, Ronaldo was seen shaking his head as he made his way off the pitch.

A short clip from the game goes a long way to explaining why Ronaldo was so frustrated.

Ronaldo has suffered from a lack of service from United’s players and that can no better be shown than a painful 30-second video of the game.

The clip starts with Paul Pogba attempting to find Ronaldo in the box but his cross was easily cut out.

From the ensuing throw-in, United’s players then cross the ball three times in search of Ronaldo.

But the crosses from Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford were way off the mark and the ball eventually finds its way into the arms of Jan Oblak.

Ronaldo could be seen throwing his arms around in frustration and you cannot blame him at all for being annoyed. View the moment below…
