Cristiano Ronaldo makes ‘greatest’ claim about NFL hero Tom Brady

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has hailed NFL legend Tom Brady as the ‘greatest of all time’ or ‘the G.O.A.T’.

The Portugal superstar was congratulating Brady on picking up the Lifetime Achievement accolade at the Laureus World Sports Awards, which celebrate the best achievements in sport of the last year. The pair seem to have struck up a bond after Ronaldo was seen talking to the American football star following the United striker's hat-trick against Tottenham at Old Trafford last month.

Just days later, Brady made a U-turn on his career retirement decision and said he would be returning for a 23rd NFL season to try and win his eighth Superbowl. The revelation was first speculated after his hesitant response to Ronaldo asking “You’re finished, right?” during March’s on-pitch conversation.

On Sunday, upon Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Brady being handed the Lifetime Achievement award, Ronaldo sent a message to his friend. He said: ”The G.O.A.T.!

“For me, it is an honour to send this video because you are truly an inspiration to all of us; for your hard work, your dedication and your longevity. I think you deserve to win this award - this one and all of the awards.

“I wish you all the best, keep going with that motivation, even with your age! Thank you a lot and keep in touch.”
