Cristiano Ronaldo: Heather O'Reilly taunts Man United star with Champions League jibe
Women’s World Cup winner and three-time Olympic gold medallist Heather O’Reilly has trolled Cristiano Ronaldo with her latest Twitter post.
The 37-year-old, who recently came out of retirement, couldn’t help but poke fun at the Portuguese forward about the fact she will be playing in the Champions League this season, while he will not.
Ronaldo rejoined former team Manchester United last year with high hopes to make the Reds a title-challenging team once again, but this plan is yet to come to fruition.
Despite the Red Devils strengthening by signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, they were unable to secure Champions League football last season.
United are currently two weeks into the new Premier League campaign and they are rock bottom of the table on zero points.
O’Reilly on the other hand, made the decision to postpone her retirement in order to fulfil her dream of playing in the Women’s Champions League, and she has done just that.
The former US international signed for Irish champions Shelbourne in July, who will compete in Europe this season.
