Cristiano Ronaldo: Fan footage of Man Utd star's long-range strike v Spurs is epic

Cristiano Ronaldo almost single-handedly reignited Manchester United’s bid for a top four finish in the Premier League this season in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Tottenham – and even bagged himself yet another individual record in the process.

Following a hat-trick against Spurs, the 37-year-old superstar now has 807 goals across his iconic career.

That tally means Ronaldo is officially the leading scorer in the history of men’s professional football, bettering the previous mark of 805 goals held by famed Austrian-Czech striker Josef Bican.

Although United’s talisman officially broke the record with his second goal of the evening at Old Trafford, it is his thunderbolt of an opener that will live longest in the memory of many.

Unleashing a magnificent right-footed strike from 35-yards shy of goal, Ronaldo’s effort on the 12-minute mark left Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris absolutely no chance as the ball sailed over his head and into the top corner.

Of all of his 807 goals across the last two decades, rarely will the Portuguese have hit a ball much sweeter.

The United faithful realised it too, rising as one to acclaim the brilliance of their hero.

In the hours since United’s crucial victory, fan footage of Ronaldo’s opening goal has emerged from various locations around Old Trafford showing just how unstoppable it truly was.

Even recently-retired seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady couldn’t help but get caught up in the moment.

One supporter at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ captured video of the NFL legend standing and applauding Ronaldo in the immediate aftermath of his exceptional strike.
