Couple demand refund for Blackpool gig 'because Ukraine war makes it unsafe to travel from Hull'

A Hull couple has demanded a full refund for their Blackpool show tickets due to the Ukraine invasion, a comedy club claims.

The comedy club, Comedy Station, in the seaside resort claims they received an email in which customers stated the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine has made it unsafe to travel from Hull to Lancashire, Hull Live reports.

Screenshots of the demands were shared by the club and included references to vulgar language directed towards a staff member.

In the club's email response, manager Ryan Gleeson told the customer that they wouldn't be issuing refunds over a war in another country.

The email stated: "As Rob mentioned, you are not entitled to a refund, simply because you live 'nearer to Russia than we do'."

Screenshots of the emails have since been shared hundreds of times after being posted by Comedy Station on Twitter.

"We genuinely didn’t think we’d need to say this, but Russia moving troops into Ukraine does not entitle you to
