Costa mocks Adesanya ahead UFC 287 rematch with Pereira

Paulo Costa has decided to get his name involved in the upcoming UFC 287 title fight rematch between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. Like he always does, “’Borranchinha’ poked fun at Izzy by coming up with an x-rated prank. It didn’t take long for ‘The Last Stylebender’ to hit back, reports middleeasy.com.

Out of nowhere, Costa posted a fake news post aimed to mock Adesanya. In the post, the Brazilian stated that Izzy is withdrawing from his rematch with Pereira because of a sudden injury in the private part of a woman.

As expected, Adesanya did not let Costa slide. He clapped back with an x-rated dig of his own.

Adesanya and Costa aren’t the best of friends. Before and after Adesanya TKO’d Costa at UFC 253 in 2020, the pair had been going back and forth.

It can be recalled that Costa claimed that he was drunk before he fought Izzy and for that, he doesn’t count it as a defeat.

Adesanya then hit back and told ‘Borrachinha’ to just move on because no matter what he says, he ‘got his whooped’ at UFC 253.

Costa is hoping to get another shot at the middleweight title and has put himself back in the win column by dominating former 185-pound king Luke Rockhold at UFC 278.

Adesanya, meanwhile, will be looking to reclaim the UFC middleweight strap when he takes on his ultimate nemesis in combat sports, Pereira at UFC 287.

As it stands, Izzy has yet to beat Pereira even once in both kickboxing and MMA, having gone 0-3 in all of their meetings. The last time Adesanya lost to ‘Poatan’ was at UFC 281 via late TKO.
