Crystal Palace have had a number of players come through their academy that have gone on to have substantial careers in the Premier League such as Gareth Southgate, Wilfried Zaha and Wayne Routledge.

One other player that has made his way through the youth ranks at the club and become a regular first-team player for the Eagles after joining the south London club on a free transfer from Brentford’s youth squad back in 2016 is defender Tyrick Mitchell.

After making just three appearances across their U18 and U23 sides, the 22-year-old has managed to rack up 52 senior appearances for Palace, chipping in with one goal and two assists along the way, showing just how highly rated he is by the club to get him fast-tracked into the first team after only a handful of youth games.

This season has seen the left-back, who is currently earning a weekly wage of £25k-per-week according to Salary Sport, play more minutes in the Premier League than any other Palace player, showing how incredibly valued he is by manager Patrick Vieira.

His performances have earned him an overall season rating of 6.74/10, making him Palace’s sixth-highest rated player above the likes of Zaha and Odsonne Edouard according to WhoScored.

Back in October 2020, a few months after making his Premier League debut for the club in their 3-0 defeat against Leicester City, Transfermarkt rated Mitchell’s market value at £4.5m, whereas it now stands at £12.6m, highlighting the whopping increase it has taken as a result of his regular appearances and performances on the pitch for the Eagles.
