Coronation Street's Joel Deering actor says he's 'finished' amid soap future with co-star surprise

Coronation Street star Calum Lill has seemingly teased his future as Joel Deering on the cobbles as he was seen with his castmate on a night shoot.

As viewers of the ITV soap know, Joel is currently doing everything he can to evade being nailed by DS Lisa Swain for grooming Lauren Bolton and later giving her a drug that saw her go into early labour with their son, Frankie.

The truth about how dark and sinister Joel really is was revealed following Lauren's return to Weatherfield in July after she had been missing without a trace since February.

But fans already had an inkling about Joel's dark side when back in May, three months after Lauren was last seen in Weatherfield, that it was Joel who was behind her disappearance - not Roy Cropper as DS Lisa Swain decided when she charged him with Lauren's presumed murder.

A flashback clip showed Joel shockingly beating Lauren with a chair leg and Corrie fans were then left for months to ponder whether Lauren had survived the ordeal. Thankfully, she did but since her return to Weatherfield, Joel's done everything he can to keep what happened between them a secret.

He secretly housed Lauren in his flat as he moved in with his fiancé Dee-Dee Bailey ahead of their September wedding before, in another horrifying move, he triggered Lauren to prematurely give birth to their son after drugging her, originally hoping to cause her to miscarry.

But Dee-Dee has finally discovered the truth and teaming up with Lauren and DS Swain, has been hellbent on Joel getting his comeuppance. And it seems some dark scenes may be ahead
