Cork calls Ronan O'Gara 'home' for Rochelle rematch prep before Leinster clash

Ronan O'Gara will bring his La Rochelle side back 'home’ ahead of their Investec Champions Cup rematch with Leinster.

The double champions beat Stormers in the last-16 on Saturday and face a repeat of the last two finals against Leinster, who beat the Leicester Tigers at the weekend.

After the Leinster game, RTÉ Sport revealed that the former Ireland and Munster out-half was planning to bring his side to Cork early this week to prepare for the Aviva Stadium fixture (Saturday, 5.30pm, live on RTÉ).

It is believed they will set up camp at the Fota Island resort.

"As Ronan said last year, Dublin's not home, Cork’s home when he came to us for the final," RTÉ Rugby analyst Bernard Jackman said.

"Being different, yeah, I love this. This is a proper rivalry now. And you would say it’s one-sided. I know Leinster won a pool game but La Rochelle have won the last three knock-out games.

"That would be brilliant of ROG and he can do his Examiner [column] and podcast from Cork.

"Yeah, get to Ireland quickly rather than come in late.

"In France, they call it like an 'army camp’, ‘stàge’, for big games they love to go away and spend four or five or six days after and build towards it.

"It’s not unheard of, it’s unusual for us because we like to stick to our processes but I think it’s great."

Meanwhile, Ultan Dillane revealed that O’Gara laid some home truths on the table at half-time during their win in Cape Town when they found themselves 16-0 down.
