Corey Blackett-Taylor shares message after making Charlton Athletic return against Gillingham
Corey Blackett-Taylor has taken to Twitter to share a message after making his return to action in Charlton Athletic’s clash with Gillingham last night.
The 24-year-old was forced to watch on from the sidelines for seven league games due to an issue with his hamstring.
Having made a full recovery from this issue, Blackett-Taylor was handed the opportunity to showcase his talent yesterday by Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson.
The winger went on to produce a promising performance against Gillingham as his side sealed all three points at The Valley.
Alex Gilbey netted what turned out to be the winning goal in this fixture in the 40th minute as he fired an effort past goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.
Dahlberg prevented Blackett-Taylor from doubling Charlton’s advantage in the second-half as produced a smart save.
Conor Masterson squandered an opportunity to seal a point for Gillingham in the closing stages of the game as he missed the target with his effort.
As a result of this triumph, Charlton moved up to 16th in the League One standings and are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
Following his side’s victory, Blackett-Taylor decided to share a message with the club’s supporters on Twitter.
The former Tranmere Rovers man posted: “3pts.
“@CAFCofficial felt good to be back out there.”
