Contact made: Reliable journalist reveals 'superstar' joining Tottenham is a 'possibility'

Tottenham Hotspur are now in discussions with the agent of Gabriel Jesus over a potential move to north London this summer. 

This is what transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has said whilst speaking to Chris Cowlin on his YouTube channel to discuss all things Spurs.

Spurs are just one of the clubs believed to be showing an interest in the Manchester City striker this summer, with the Brazilian expected to leave.

However, the club believed to be leading the race to land the 25-year-old are Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal as they aim to add a striker to their squad ahead of next season.

It is believed City will be looking for a bid in the region of £42.7m to take Jesus away from the Etihad Stadium, but Romano does not believe the reports of a Spurs bid are true.

He said: “At the moment, there is no bid to Manchester City, but there are contacts between the [agents of] Jesus and Tottenham. Let me say that Arsenal are leading the race for him [for a] long time because of the Brazilian connection with their director Edu Gaspar, who is working on it.

“For Tottenham, they are discussing with his agent. They had conversations with his agent. So for Gabriel, it’s a possibility, but it’s important for the player to understand what will be the plan. Because Gabriel Jesus is leaving Manchester City this summer, but he wants to play, he wants to be a key player in the next club he will join.”
