Contact made: Man City given chance to sign 'underrated' star who Pep called a 'king' - report

Manchester City have been offered the chance to sign big name star and Paris-Saint Germain forward Neymar for Pep Guardiola, according to reports.

The Blues, after clinching their fourth Premier League title in five seasons, could be set for a sweeping summer of change at Eastlands.

A dramatic 3-2 final day victory over Aston Villa to win manager Guardiola another domestic crown may have been the last hurrah for many first teamers with some big names, like long-serving star Raheem Sterling, reportedly edging nearer the exit door.

Incomings have already come in to replace those who are thought to be departing City with superstar forward Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega, alongside Kalvin Phillips, being snapped up.

Now, according to 90min, there has been a fairly big transfer development as sporting director Txiki Begiristain and co are offered PSG star Neymar.

Indeed, it is believed that the Brazilian’s representatives have now contacted City to sound out their interest in potentially signing him.

As per this report, Neymar’s agents are offering him out to English clubs and Guardiola’s side are included in the list, along with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Given City are already well-stocked in the attacking areas, depending on potential exits, a move for Neymar may have to be placed on the back-burner until Begiristain seals more pressing targets like Marc Cucurella.

That being said, it would be very interesting to see how Guardiola would utilise Neymar in this City team, with the Spaniard previously having called the 30-year-old a ‘king’.

City’s manager hasn’t held back in his admiration for Neymar before, with ex-footballer David Cotterill also calling him the ‘most underrated player of all time’.
