Conor Murray set for Munster return against Toulouse

Conor Murray looks set to make his return from injury for Munster in Sunday's Heineken Champions Cup opener against Toulouse at Thomond Park (live on RTÉ 2 and RTÉ Player).

The scrum-half has been sidelined with a groin injury since early November, suffering the knock in the first half of Ireland's 19-16 win against South Africa on 5 November.

Murray returned to team training this week and looks set to contest the No 9 shirt with Craig Casey, who has covered for him both provincially and internationally in recent weeks.

Mike Haley is also on track to be fit. The full-back missed the recent BKT United Rugby Championship win against Edinburgh having suffered a head injury in the win against Connacht on 26 November, but he is expected to complete the return to play protocols in the coming days.

However, Munster will be without Simon Zebo for the opening rounds of the Champions Cup.

The wing picked up a "low-grade" knee injury in Friday night's win in Scotland, with the province saying he will be sidelined for "the coming weeks".

Watch Munster v Toulouse in the Heineken Champions Cup live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player from 2.30pm on Sunday, or listen to live commentary on Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1.
