Conor McGregor: Chael Sonnen delivers harsh truth on UFC legend

UFC veteran Chael Sonnen has explained why he believes Conor McGregor’s title hopes in the UFC have come to an end.

For the longest time now, mixed martial arts fans have been split down the middle when it comes to Conor McGregor. Some want to praise what he’s done for the sport, whereas others prefer to talk about everything he’s done to hurt his legacy.

Whatever the case may be, MMA has been a very different place ever since he suffered a nasty leg break last summer during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

‘Notorious’ hasn’t been seen as a fighter in his prime for quite a while but when he was, the Irishman was on top of the world – largely because he was able to capture the UFC featherweight title and UFC lightweight title, becoming the first fighter to hold two belts simultaneously.

Alas, with his last championship victory taking place almost six years ago, questions have understandably been asked about his ability to get back to the top.

During a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, the aforementioned Chael Sonnen admitted that he feels like Conor won’t make it to the summit again.

“Conor McGregor’s championship run is over. That’s true. That’s mean. Conor did not come out and tell you guys this, because he’s not aware of it. Get this – the whole world can see what we as the athlete take about two more years to see.”
