Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 5 Live Updates: India are down 1-2 in the badminton mixed team final after Kidambi Srikanth lost his singles match. PV Sindhu had earlier won the second match of the mixed team badminton final against Malaysia to get India back on level terms after the men's doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost the opening game of the gold medal match. The women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will then be in action, followed by mixed doubles team of Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponappa.

Meanwhile, Seema Punia and Navjeet Kaur Dhillon are in action in the women's discus throw final. It has been a golden day for India at the CWG 2022 so far on Tuesday. In a major first for India, the women's fours lawn bowls team won a historic gold in the sport by defeating South Africa 17-10 in the final. The quartet of Lovely Choubey, Rupa Rani Tirkey, Pinki and Nayanmoni Saikia made history as they recovered after trailing in the title to triumph.

After that historic win, the men's table tennis team defeated Singapore 3-1 in the gold medal match to give the country its fifth gold medal of the Games. Weightlifter Vikas Thakur won a silver medal in the men's 96kg final with a combined best lift of 346 kg. In Athletics, Murali Sreeshankar and Muhammed Anees Yahiya have qualified for the men's long jump final.

Star shot-putter Manpreet Kaur has qualified for the final too. Weightlifter Punam Yadav failed in her three clean and jerk lifts to return empty-handed from the women's 76kg category. In squash, Saurav Ghosal lost to New Zealand's Paul Coll in the men's singles semi-final.
