Comedian Jason Manford lands major new hosting role on BBC's new game show

Jason Manford is poised to charm audiences as the host of the BBC's newest quiz show, The Answer Run. The 43 year old comedian will be at the helm of this exciting general knowledge game, where contestants compete in teams of two, with hope of pocketing a sizeable cash prize.

The innovative format presents participants with a pair of answers; they must pick the one that matches the question, navigating categories as diverse as 'Dolly Parton or Barbie' to 'Venus or Saturn', and even soap opera quandaries like 'Eastenders or Coronation Street'.

As the tension builds throughout each episode, only one team will make it to 'The Final Run', vying for the chance to leave with the money accumulated during the show.

Reflecting on the production experience, Jason shared: "We had so much fun filming The Answer Run earlier this year and the contestants across each episode were brilliant! I can't wait for audiences to see it on screen this month and play along by themselves at home."

Set to hit screens later this month, The Answer Run comprises 25 pre-recorded episodes, each 45 minutes long, reports the Express.

Giving fans a hint of what's to come, the comedian divulged: "There were pairs who walked away with really decent sums of money and you just know that money was going to go towards something really special."

Jason has expressed his excitement about becoming the host of the quiz show, saying: "I love presenting, as well as my acting and theatre work. Presenting is something I've always enjoyed so when The Answer Run knocked on my door I couldn't pass it up. The contestants really are the stars of the show though."

He also shared insights into the experience of the contestants: "Obviously, a lot of contestants would be nervous
