College football Bottom 10 after Week 6: Texas takes fall - ESPN
Inspirational thought of the week:
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
— «Autumn Leaves,» Nat King Cole
Here at Bottom 10 Headquarters, located behind the triage tent reserved for people who thought they could just show up cold and keep up with a Jess Sims Peloton class and ended up blowing out both hamstrings like tires on a police stop strip, we are looking around us and all we see are the glorious colors of fall.
The red of the Western Kentucky Hillstoppers and the perfection of seeing Big Red playing football on black helmets. The orange of the Sam Houston Bearkats, who face Big Red on Wednesday night and will no doubt try to steal all the K's off all the WKU logos. The brown of Boiling Green, which just clashed with the green and gold of Sackreminto State.
The changing colors spreading across the landscape of the United States are a reminder of the ever-changing landscape of college football. A reminder that even when times are down, change is inevitable. A fresh start is on the way. A chance to renew. To one day rise again from the lowest levels of the ground.
But first, as those who make their livings in the Bottom 10 know all too well, there is the fall. Not the season. Just a fall.
With apologies to Washington State legend Ryan Leaf, Virginia Tech D-lineman Elhadj Fall and Steve Harvey, here are the 2026 post-Week 6 Bottom 10 rankings.
Fun fact: Every Saturday when I return home from «Marty & McGee» and «SEC Nation,» I use a moving sidewalk at the Charlotte
