Coleen Rooney breaks social media silence to share touching message as 'Wagatha Christie' trial paused

Coleen Rooney has been silent on social media for weeks but has now shared a touching post on her Instagram page during a break in the 'Wagatha Christie' trial.

Coleen, who is married to former Manchester United star and current Derby County manager Wayne Rooney, is currently going head-to-head with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy at the High Court of Justice in London. Leicester star Jamie Vardy’s wife is suing Coleen for defamation after she was publicly accused of leaking stories to The Sun.

Both have refused to settle the matter outside of court and have kept relatively quiet on social media since the trial started on May 10 but Coleen has now shared an update with fans on Instagram, the Liverpool Echo reports.

With the trial on pause, Coleen took the time to pay tribute to her mum, Colette McLoughlin, on her birthday. Sharing a black and white snap of the two of them enjoying cocktails, she said: "Happy Birthday to an extremely special person, My Mum.

"Have the best time celebrating, I love you so much and appreciate everything you do for me and us all."

Some of Coleen's celeb pals were quick to wish Colette well. Danielle Lloyd said: "Happy birthday to your lovely mum", while Lizzie Cundy also said "happy birthday".

Fans rushed to the comments section to do the same. Mary McEvoy said: "Beautiful mam and daughter, god bless you", while Rob Carter wrote: "Happy birthday, Colette, enjoy your special day."
