Cody Rhodes WWE return: More news on his 'huge' WrestleMania plans

Some more information has emerged regarding the plans that WWE has for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38.

After weeks of back-and-forth reports and conflicting reports, a new report claimed today that Cody Rhodes has officially signed with WWE.

The deal was reported done around two weeks ago, as you can read more about by clicking here, and will see Rhodes return over WrestleMania weekend.

And now, courtesy of Fightful Select’s latest report, we have more information on what WWE is planning for Rhodes’ return at the huge show.

Fightful hasn’t confirmed that Rhodes has re-signed with WWE, but is reporting that the company “has been operating” as if Cody’s return is done.

The site also reports that while several “huge pitches” were made for Cody, Seth Rollins is the planned direction for him, as has been reported.

However, Seth Rollins has been the direction for some time.

In some new information, Fightful reports that travel for Cody Rhodes into Dallas for WrestleMania Sunday has been set.

The report explains that WWE has been working under the impression that Cody Rhodes will be appearing on the second night of WrestleMania next month.

A source within WWE has indicated that travel has been set for Cody Rhodes for WrestleMania Sunday, but also specified that could change at any given moment to fit him wherever they want him to appear on the show… However, those within WWE were working on the notion that Rhodes was planned for night 2 as of this week. 

As the report notes, plans within WWE can change, but it seems like Cody isn’t going to actually make his return until WrestleMania itself.

That would mean that Cody’s return promo would be the night after WrestleMania, traditionally WWE’s most-watched TV show of the year,
